Berlinale Goes Kiez: The Programme
From February 22 to 28, Berlinale Goes Kiez rolls out the Red Carpet every day in a different neighbourhood and brings the festival atmosphere and international guests into the programme cinemas of the city and the surrounding area. The programme was compiled from the various sections of the Berlinale. With a total of 14 films from Competition, Berlinale Special, Encounters, Panorama, Forum, Generation and Perspektive Deutsches Kino, a short film programme of the Berlinale Shorts and three episodes of a series, the special presentation offers a captivating cross-section of the festival beyond the festival centre at Potsdamer Platz.
At all events, guests are invited to attend the introduction and / or to participate in the discussion following the presentation. Berlinale Goes Kiez welcomes cinema-loving visitors to meet filmmakers in a familiar atmosphere and to engage in a direct exchange with them; an opportunity that is always highly valued by the film teams.
The series is once again supplemented by a special screening at the JVA Plötzensee, which is open to external audiences also this year. On February 27, at 5 pm, Kids Run from Perspektive Deutsches Kino will be presented. Director Barbara Ott, leading actor Jannis Niewöhner as well as producers Gabriele Simon and Martin Heisler have already been announced for discussions following the presentation.
Due to the unusual venue, there will be special admission regulations. Tickets for the event may only be purchased at Berlinale advance ticket sales and by registering with your full name. Tickets are non-transferable, that is, they may only be used by those who bought them.
On the day of the event, ticket holders will be admitted to the JVA Plötzensee only on presentation of a valid identity card or passport. Valuables - such as mobile phones, keys, money, credit cards - as well as food may not be brought into the facility. A limited number of lockers will be available, yet since they are small, do not bring any large bags or luggage.
Please allow 45 minutes to get in. There is no admission for latecomers.
A limited number of press representatives may attend by registering in advance with . Photography and video recordings are not permitted.
Tickets for all regular screenings will be available from February 17 wherever Berlinale tickets are sold as well as in the respective neighbourhood cinema.
