Berlinale Spotlight: Berlinale Shorts in Berlin
Due to the current situation regarding COVID-19, both events are cancelled. We hope they will take place at a later date.
For many years, the Berlinale has been present worldwide with specially curated programmes, even outside of the actual festival period. These activities are known as the Berlinale Spotlight.
In cooperation with the Junge Akademie, the first Berlinale Spotlights: Berlinale Shorts will take place this year in Berlin as part of the shorts/salon.
The short film programmes on the topics of “censorship” and “self-efficacy” feature films which premiered at Berlinale Shorts in recent years. The films lay the foundations for a dialogue with a panel of academics invited by the Junge Akademie.
“We unite short films and scientists from various disciplines with one another for the purpose of opening up new perspectives on a chosen topic and bringing different expertise into conversation. In this regard, the short film resembles a speech. Listening full of curiosity and engaging in the non-biased exchange of ideas, that’s all very important to us,” says Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck, head of Berlinale Shorts.
Both events are part of the activities celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Junge Akademie. Entry is free. Prior registration is nevertheless requested: anmeldung.diejungeakademie.de
