Nikola Joetze Takes Over as New Project Manager of Berlinale Talents
On September 1, Nikola Joetze will take over the project management of Berlinale Talents, completing the dual leadership team of the talent development initiative alongside programme manager Florian Weghorn.
Nikola Joetze brings to the Berlinale Talents team her many years of professional experience at the European Film Academy, where she was responsible for the event management of the European Film Awards as well as the implementation of numerous other networking projects in the film sector up until 2020. Most recently, she has demonstrated her excellent knowledge of development, partner communication, and team leadership as project coordinator of Driving the Human, a multi-year collaborative project at the intersection of science and art. Nikola Joetze is currently completing her training as a Personal & Business Coach, and will thus bring additional valuable impulses to her new team.
The Berlinale’s management duo Mariëtte Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian comment in welcome: “Nikola has known Berlinale Talents since the beginning and has had contact with us and many of the Talents on our way towards today’s global film community. We are delighted to have this opportunity to continue the success of Berlinale Talents as a sustainable talent development initiative together with Nikola and the whole team.”
“Berlinale Talents is a unique cosmos, an exciting working environment in which new ideas and groundbreaking changes in the film industry can be explored, tested, and advanced in cooperation with top-class partners and supporters. I am very much looking forward to contributing to this together with Florian Weghorn and an experienced team,” says designated project manager Nikola Joetze.
The previous project manager, Christine Tröstrum, will remain on the team until October 31 to ensure a smooth handover of tasks and long-standing partner relations to Nikola Joetze.
Until September 4, film professionals from all over the world and 14 film disciplines can still apply for the next edition of Berlinale Talents (February 17-22, 2024). All application criteria and the online form can be found at www.berlinale-talents.de.
