Tanja Meissner
Tanja Meissner has been appointed Director Berlinale Pro* in May 2024.
German-French Meissner is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience and profound knowledge of the film industry, its production, distribution and exhibition mechanisms.
She started her career in 1995 as an international PR agent, handling the publicity of numerous films in Cannes and Venice. Simultaneously she became assistant to Wieland Speck, former director of the Berlinale Panorama section, while also co-heading the guest and press office of the Vienna International Film Festival.
In 2000 she moved to Paris to join the prominent sales agency Celluloid Dreams, playing a valuable part in designing the sales and investment strategy in positions of progressive responsibility.
In 2007 she joined Emilie Georges to develop and head the international department at the young and upcoming Memento Films, which became a high-profile sales agency under the joint leadership.
Meissner is a regular guest teacher at the Film Akademie Ludwigsburg. In 2021/22 she co-curated the mentoring program ProducerLand Goa/India. She's a frequent market expert for EAVE, Holland Film Meetings, UniFrance, TCCF Taiwan and Fondo Audiovisivo Italy. She is a member of EWA, the European Women's Audiovisual network and the French organization 50/50 for Gender Parity. Previously she was a member of the selection committee of the Film Fund Luxembourg, the export commission at Unifrance and the bureau of ADEF, the French Association of Sales Agents.
