Pietro Marcello
Born in Caserta, Italy in 1976, he studied painting at the Naples Academy of Fine Arts and began directing his first short films in the early 2000s. His debut feature-length documentary, Il passaggio della linea, screened in the Orizzonti section of the Venice International Film Festival while La bocca del lupo was selected for the 2010 Forum and won the Teddy Award and the Caligari Film Prize. His further documentaries have screened and won awards at international festivals. His debut feature film, Martin Eden, premiered at Venice and was awarded the Coppa Volpi for Best Actor.
