Fugue

At the centre of this film are Luke’s five lovers. Each one of the love stories portrayed emphasises another aspect of Luke’s sexuality. Sexual passion and all its fluctuations becomes the musical leitmotif for Luke’s personality. James Brown’s film is structured according to the musical precepts of a fugue.
