Sammy, who is seven years of age, is convinced that he has been bitten by a poisonous snake. His fear grows when his sympathetic playmates tell him stories about exploding hearts and swollen feet - the deplorable symptoms of snakebite. Sammy spends the rest of the afternoon diagnosing what he believes to be the first signs of his impending death. Once he is at home, he tells his parents of the tragic event about to befall him. Fortunately, his father is not only an expert in sucking out the imaginary poison; he is also a convincing actor.
