Der Stadtstreicher

A man in tattered clothing empties a bottle of wine at a tram stop in Munich. A pistol he finds on a bridge starts him thinking about suicide. His existential crisis is just a game to others. This melancholy drama of an underdog was inspired by Eric Rohmer’s Le signe du lion (1959) and the films of Pier Paolo Pasolini.
