White Riot: London

Rubika Shah, whose Let's Dance: Bowie Down Under was screened in Generation, documents social tensions in 1970s London, fanzine style. The right-wing National Front's mobilisation against supposed foreigners is going unchecked. A youthful countermovement arises, with a rallying cry of ‘Smash the Nazis’, and new and rebellious music. Their attitude and drive live on in those who still use art to oppose social evils.
