Barbed Wire
In the countryside outside São Paulo, 12-year-old Angelina and her younger brother Santiago stretch barbed wire across a dirt road, aiming to scratch their stepfather’s truck as it speeds past. But the plan goes horribly wrong and an innocent bystander is injured. The siblings’ older sister Evita comes to their rescue and they spend a tense, sleepless night together in an overcrowded hospital emergency room, where the buried tensions in the family rise to the surface. Forced into confrontations with strangers from different walks of life, Angelina, Evita and their stepfather Zé Luis must face the consequences of their actions and struggle to understand each other as a family.
