Têtes brûlées
Twelve-year-old Eya is growing up in a Tunisian-Muslim family in Brussels. She shares a close relationship with her 25-year-old brother Younès. Eya spends her days by his side, surrounded by a group of his friends who consider her one of their own. When Younès suddenly dies, Eya’s world collapses. Immersed in a mourning process marked by codified rituals, she is aware both of the solidarity of her community as it rallies around her family and the silence that isolates each individual in their grief. Eya has to find her own way to overcome this ordeal. She is supported by her creativity, the connections she forges with her brother’s friends and, above all, her faith. A tender and nuanced portrayal of a multicultural and united youth.
