Making (Hi)stories Visible

How can history be reflected upon and (re)written via the means of film? The filmmakers Quenton Miller, Lesley Loksi Chan and Caroline Monnet exchange their ideas in a conversation and use their short films to provide insight into their working practices. In the film Koki, Ciao, the talking cockatoo which once belonged to Josip Broz Tito reports on his life with the long-time president of Yugoslavia. In Lloyd Wong, Unfinished, the late artist Lloyd Wong depicts living with AIDS in 1990s Toronto from a Chinese-Canadian perspective. And in Pidikwe, which is being presented in Forum Expanded, Indigenous women dance their way into the canon of cultural history.
