TEDDY Directors’ Exchange: (Re)claiming Authority Over Narratives

Who has the right to tell somebody else’s story? Can authorship and collaboration organically co-exist? With regards to fictional re-creations, observational documentaries and the exploration of hard realities, how does the process between the director and those who have lived or are still living those realities come together to create authentic and moving works like Queer as Punk, Dreamers and Two Times João Liberada. We are looking forward to discussing these questions with the directors of the films presented in the Forum, Panorama and Perspectives respectively: Yihwen Chen, Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor and Paula Tomás Marques.
