Berlin on Film - A Conversation with Tom Tykwer
Tom Tykwer’s longstanding fascination with Berlin has found a firm place in his illustrious filmography: from his debut feature Deadly Maria to the polyamorous tale Three and one of the ultimate Berlin films of recent decades, Run Lola Run. The city’s architectural contradictions, its chaos and energy have been a fertile ground for the director’s distinctive and idiosyncratic imagination. With his latest film Das Licht (Berlinale Opening Film in 2025), he returns to his favourite radical playground. In this conversation, he joins journalist and Berlinale curator Jenni Zylka for an in-depth discussion in HUB75.
