Peru's cuisine has become famous all over the world because the country offers great products growing in several climate zones. The food is a blend of indigenous roots with Spanish, African and Asian influences. Gastón Acurio from Lima was the first gastronomer to gain international recognition for his cuisine. Ferran Adrià became his most important supporter. Together the two famous chefs founded the Pachacutec Cooking School which has led to an unprecedented popularity in cooking in Peru. This movement is having a great impact on Peruvian society.
